Master planning of the this 50 acre complex incorporates facilities for Public Services, Parks and Recreation, a Fire Station/EMS and a Public Works Satellite. The site was designed to maximize land use while being sensitive to visibility and public access.
The façade is adorned with a masonry colonnade linking the three primary pods of the facility together. The layout was intended to maximize exterior exposure to offices and work spaces.
The Lobby space created a focal point leading to the courtroom.
The Courtroom utilized Stained wood architectural elements and custom ceiling feature focused on the judicial activities.
SOUTH STRAND GOVERNMENTAL COMPLEX
This Public Services building is designed to be expandable with spaces provided for Horry County Magistrate, Courtroom, Treasurer, Auditor, Department of Motor Vehicles, Department of Social Services, Health Clinic, and miscellaneous shared spaces, including Conference Rooms and Break Room.
